Woman of the Wall

(2017) Project: Create a surreal landscape using photos taken during the China Study Abroad trip. I combined photos I took of a Chinese model and the Great Wall of China in Beijing. The woman is sleeping on the landscape and morphing into it. I wanted to subtly draw attention to the historic role of male supremacy especially in Chinese culture. The woman is quiet-she did not have a part in the construction of the wall and she is walked over by people everyday.
